About Us:
Sturts Community Trust (SCT) are looking for a motivated Farmer to manage the 95 acre mixed organic/biodynamic care farm and live as part of a Camphill Co-Housing Community located in West Moors, Dorset. We are proud to be the first integrated Co-Housing community in the UK where people with (and without) learning disabilities live in supportive neighbourhoods together.
About the Farm:
The farm consists of a small Dairy Shorthorn Herd with a beef Shorthorn Bull. We have a Duroc Boar and a Saddleback sow with some weaners. There are a few Ouessant sheep, some chickens, ducks, geese and a cob. All the young stock is being fattened on site and the meat is sold through the SCT Farm Shop. The cows are currently milked once a day and all cattle are MOB grazed.
Within the 95 acre farm is a market garden along with some forest land. The majority of the farm land is permanent pasture.
About You:
We are looking for an individual who can:
- Demonstrate inspirational best organic practice in looking after the land and animals at SCT.
- Lead the Farm Team in production & meaningful work.
