A delegation of comrades from the Venezuelan Communal Union is touring Europe, visiting Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Its objective is to strengthen relations with political organizations and social movements in Europe, promote the communal project and to establish ties of internationalist solidarity, through the exchange of experiences and mutual knowledge.
The Venezuelan communes are an important source of inspiration for comrades around the world and demonstrate the importance of an independently organized working class.
The Communal Union is a national political movement of communes in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, committed to socialism, anti-imperialism, anti-capitalism, feminism, the environment and the project of developing the Communal State in Venezuela.
Integrated by 70 communes in 15 states, both urban and rural, the Communal Union is constituted in 2019 as an organization that contributes to the project of building the Bolivarian Communal State.
The main lines of political action of the Communal Union are:
– economy and communal production
– education
– communication
– community organization
– integrated development of the rural environment
Most of the communes of the Communal Union have land and means of production with which they promote productive processes around primary sector items such as coffee, cocoa, corn, leguminous plants, cattle, sheep and pigs, sugar cane, among others. Currently working on the installation of schools that seek to move towards production methods with an agroecological approach, allowing for the transformation of practices in the territory.
It also develops economic activities through semi-industrial transformation processes, textiles, transportation services, community tourism and the provision of public services.

Oswaldo Hernández is a communal farmer, coffee grower, and member of the Argelia Laya Collective located in the Morán Municipality of Lara State. He is responsible for the Sectores Unidos de Villanueva Communal Bank. He is a militant of the Communal Union and a member of the Argelia Laya Brigade.
Luis Miguel Guerrero is a young coffee grower and member of the COLIMIR Cooperative, a production unit that is part of the Che Guevara Commune, in the Caracciolo Parra Municipality of the State of Mérida. He is a member of the Argelia Laya Brigade and a militant of the Communal Union.
Juan Lenzo is a teacher and communicator, member of the community television station Tatuy Tv. He is an activist and responsible for communications of the Communal Union.
