Toekomstboeren was in El Salvador

Toekomstboeren was in El Salvador representing the European Coordination of Via Campesina together with other farmers from La Via Campesina International from MST (Brasil), FEDECARE (Dominican Republic) and the local Via Campesina FECORACE (El Salvador).

We joined a movement building gathering organized by Friends of the Earth International from the 3rd until the 7th of July in territory Nahuatl, the center of El Salvador.  The gathering was about “Strengthen the Articulation of Resistance to the different forms of Systemic Oppression”  and had Food Sovereignty, Capitalism, Patriarchy and Diversities as main discussion points.  Before the meeting several talks happened between the Toekomstboeren delegation, ECVC members and allies in order to bring broader perspectives on what’s the current Food Sovereignty situation in Europe regarding systems of oppression.

Mixing internal training on these topics with meetings on movement building, the main aim of this gathering was to look at each organization’s gaps regarding oppressions while strengthening and reinforcing the articulation of Food Sovereignty organizations around the world. We finish with a road map of potential online shared formations on topics like racial capitalism and migration and patriarchy and new masculinities always from a class perspective keeping an international approach of solidarity. The grassroots collectives present were members from Friends of the Earth Salvador (CESTA) , Friends of the Earth international (FOEI/ATI), Grassroots Global Justice Alliance (GGA), La Via Campesina (LVC), Marcha Mundial de las Mujeres (MMM) and the Confederación del Sindicalismo de las Américas.
