In the weekend of June 11 and 12 Toekomstboeren, FIAN Netherlands, Otherwise, TNI and Ileia welcome you to participate in the training weekend ‘Food Sovereignty in Practice’, an inspiring exchange of alternatives to our current food system.
The training weekend will take place on the organic farm Buitenverwachting near Leiden and is meant for both students, practitioners and (prospective) farmers who are interested in movement building and deepening their knowledge of food sovereignty, agroecology, urban food systems and the human right to food.
Through interactive discussions, workshops and practical exercises on the farm, we will reflect on our current food system, traditional roles of producers and consumers and barriers to food sovereignty. Various guest speakers will share their knowledge and experiences.
The training weekend takes place from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. The price includes food and shared accommodation (you will need to bring your own mat and sleeping bag). You can also bring your own tent. There is space for a limited amount of 30 participants. Your travel (within the Netherlands) can be reimbursed.
